What triggered you to move in?

We always liked Aso and used to come to Takamori by bus often. Eventually, we wanted to live in Aso.

What do you like about Takamori-machi? .

We have been soothered by the nature every day. We were surprised, as a wild boar or a deer hangs around in our neighborhood. On the other hand, it may be inconvenient because there are not many things as in the city. Some locals ask us: "We don't have anything here. Why did you come?" But we think having not too many choices is rather easier to live.

Message to those who are considering to move in:

When you get old, it may get physically harder to do various things for self-sufficiency. So, the quicker the better. we recommend to try living here even just for a short period.

What triggered you to move in?

Takamori had been our favorite since our 20s. Unlike other Aso regions, we liked the Takamori's relaxing atmosphere.

What do you like about Takamori-machi? .

Preparing Firewoods and mowing, what we have to do here are a lot and more physically demanding than in the city. But it's never stressful, and we get healthy thanks to the fresh air. We don't catch cold as often as before moving in. In addition, the local people are friendly. We've received a daikon radish from a total stranger who passed by a small truck (lol.)

Message to those who are considering to move in:

Takamori-machi has an image of sitting deep in the mountains. But the more often you come, the more charming the area gets. Come visit casually and start from touching various attractions.

What triggered you to move in?

Because we have a big dog, we wanted to grow him in a spacious land.

Did anything change from the life before migration?

Compared to our lifestyle before migration, we don't go looking for fun outside the town as often. Local people say they don't have anything in the countryside, but the seasonal changes are dramatic, and it's fun to smell the wood and using five senses in living. Also as we can now go out in a T-shirt and boots, it's nice to be able to live without dressing up.

Message to those who are considering to move in:

As interacting with people gets more intense than in the city, people who want a quiet life in the country might have a hard time. And surprisingly, there are more things to do. So, we think life here is suitable for those who can enjoy those things.

What triggered you to move in?

After the earthquake, we started looking back our work and life. Considering the environment to raise our child slowly, we decided to move in Takamori where our acquaintance lived.

What's your impression after moving in?

As our life is based on driving the car, the travel distance is getting longer than before migration. But we don't get stress, as we feel the changing seasons and see beautiful landscapes every day. While we live in a village and communicate with the neighbors often, they are very nice to us.

Message to those who are considering to move in:

Takamori-machi has many shops at the center and is convenient enough for a normal life. On the other hand, you can choose to have a life of self-sufficiency in the mountains. If you could explore various patterns and adjust your lifestyle. then you would probably enjoy yourself.
