Takamori Touge Senbon Sakura
Senbon Sakura is the beauty spot of cherry trees in Tamamori Cho. These cherry trees are located along the road with many curves which is commonly known by ”Kujyuku Magari Senbon Sakura”, and are one of prominent beauty spot of cherry trees in the prefecture.
Approximately 6000 cherry trees such as Yoshino cherry and Prunus yamazakura are blooming along the 4km roadside from the foot of mountain to the top in spring.
The appeal of Takamori Touge Senbon Sakura lies in enjoying cherry blossoms relatively for a long time because a vertical drop from the foot of mountain to the top is 150m. (Blossoming period is around the end of March to the middle of April.)
”Sakura Festival” is held in cherry blossom viewing open space near the third station every year. The open space is crowded with many cherry-blossom viewers.
In addition, this place can be recommended as a driving spot as you can see the Aso Gogaku from the top of Takamori Touge.
