Takamori Yusui Tunnel Park
Takamori Yusui Tunnel Park is the Kyusyu Central Intersection Railway linking to Nobeoka and Kumamoto. The construction was launched in December, 1973; however, a massive water suddenly was gushed in February, 1975.
After this incident, several flooding frequently occurred, resulting in suspending the construction at a point of digging 2055m. As a result, the Takamori Tunnel construction was discontinued in 1980.
Then, it has been utilized as Takamori Yusui Tunnel Park. You can enjoy beautiful and dreamy space seasonally with using 32t spring water per minute.
In the tunnel, the pavement is built. You can enjoy the set fountain water pearl (a device making water a sphere by giving special sound wave, and dropping, lifting, and stopping drops of water flowing out by the arrangement of interval of strobe emission) which drops of water magically move. In addition, ”The Tanabata Festival” and ”Christmas Fantasy” are held in every July and from the middle of November to December, respectively in the tunnel.
